The BYD EV INNOVATIVE-A-THON is a unique technological initiative in partnership with the Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC) that aims to ignite innovative ideas among students from various Indian engineering universities. BYD and the ASDC are collaborating to invite students in various streams who aspire & think about creating Innovative & Sustainable technology.

Students of the selected institutes can enrol & participate in the BYD EV INNOVATE-A-THON. It is open to all engineering courses & any year batches Whether you're a fresher or a senior, your innovative & sustainable ideas are what we seek.

The project is structured into three progressive rounds:

• Focus: Electric Vehicles (EVs) and sustainability principles
• Format: Online MCQ
• Selection Criteria: Students with the highest correct answers given in the shortest time span shall be selected

• Focus: Digital Prototype
• Format: Online
• Selection Criteria: Teams will advance based on the originality, clarity, feasibility, and potential impact of their submissions.
• Team Formation: Winning candidates from Round 1 will be randomly grouped into teams of four. Each participating university must appoint a team lead to act as the primary contact between the university and the organisers. Additionally, each team should select a mentor, who can be an internal professor from the university or an external expert. The mentor's role is to provide guidance, support, and insight throughout the project.

• Format: Prototype Creation and Sales Presentation
• Format: Offline
• Selection Criteria: The final selected teams from the second round shall create a physical prototype, a sales pitch and present the same to our judges. The final team will be selected based on:
  • Functionality of their prototype
  • Inclusion of electric & sustainability aspect
  • Adherence to the original idea
  • Overall presentation skills

The winning team stands a chance to visit BYD Headquarters in China for a week to meet with the R&D teams who can guide the young aspirants on future sustainability ideas. Each contestant of the winning team stands a chance to win cash prizes of up to INR 50,000/-.
